david sedaris claims

so i was listening to david sedaris about how he likes to ask locals about their state's gun laws when he travels around the country. he mentioned how in michigan the visually impaired are allowed to hunt without the assistance of a sighted person. i happily harassed marco with this tidbit about his former state but then started wondering if it was true. so i looked around the web for any evidence of this claim and could only find the law where it says that visually impaired hunters may use laser sighting devices only accompanied by another sighted and licenced hunter. however, it says nothing about regular handguns and crossbows... hmmmm....
