i wasn't going to vote today, but...

i voted. now, i wasn't going to vote because i haven't really done much homework on what i was voting on (what with almost going to the ER for my puking). i was concerned that i would do more harm than good. marco had suggested to vote along party lines, but it still concerned me that i wasn't making the right choices. so i woke up (pukey and) resolved to not vote. it bothered me because i should vote, as it is a privilege and a responsibility. and i was doing homework and the news started on my tv in the background and the fact that the dems are 6 seats away from controlling the senate and 15 from controlling congress, and with the possibility that nancy pelosi might be our new speaker of the house, it all convinced me that i should vote. fortunately, the assisted living place across the street is a big polling place (and gives the seniors in it something to do, which i am all for) and so i ducked out of homework for 15 minutes in order to vote. i realize that california is a hugely democratic state (despite our governator) and that my vote wasn't really as important as say, a virginia vote, but i felt better both voting and procrastinating from homework.
