i think i haven't posted these...

oh these are some of the things i've made that i have really posted since all this baby business. it's not baby stuff (amazingly) but stuff for either swaps or etsy. well, the snail is for the friends of craftster swap (my thank you gift) and the first pic of the celtic cap (and stitch detail -- which is really a lot more difficult than i thought) for a the invite your partner swap (the partner i invited was so great! i love everything she sent). the crazy lasandri hat in bold colors was for an etsy order, and i think i really love this one!

since i've actually stopped swapping for a while (too much homework and baby things going on), i haven't been terribly prolific, but hopefully i will be making more things (baby stuff, probably, since it's small and finishing it is satisfying).

interested in the celtic hat pattern? it's here. everything else is my pattern :)

oh video, how you elude me!

the reason i haven't actually written lately is because i wanted my next entry to be my grandmother dancing reggaeton, for which i got a really great video but unless i want to put it up in some super public site like youtube, i can't figure out for the life of me how to put it up. actually, maybe i'll work on it during the thanksgiving break. but anyhow, here's a picture of her in her birthday, dancing reggeton. happy birthday, grandma ;) (and here are the rest of the photos, which actually include a couple of shots of my own birthday on Nov. 1)

i wasn't going to vote today, but...

i voted. now, i wasn't going to vote because i haven't really done much homework on what i was voting on (what with almost going to the ER for my puking). i was concerned that i would do more harm than good. marco had suggested to vote along party lines, but it still concerned me that i wasn't making the right choices. so i woke up (pukey and) resolved to not vote. it bothered me because i should vote, as it is a privilege and a responsibility. and i was doing homework and the news started on my tv in the background and the fact that the dems are 6 seats away from controlling the senate and 15 from controlling congress, and with the possibility that nancy pelosi might be our new speaker of the house, it all convinced me that i should vote. fortunately, the assisted living place across the street is a big polling place (and gives the seniors in it something to do, which i am all for) and so i ducked out of homework for 15 minutes in order to vote. i realize that california is a hugely democratic state (despite our governator) and that my vote wasn't really as important as say, a virginia vote, but i felt better both voting and procrastinating from homework.

marco is my hero

because he holds me up while i throw up. and he buys me donuts and big macs. and he ditches school to take care of me. i'm going to think of a good daddy gift to give him... any suggestions?

my birthday

was yesterday. and i am now 29... hmmmm... 30 isn't looking as exotic as it did on sex and the city; but perhaps it's because right now i feel rather (how should i put this?) like a huge balloon? i have actually gone on to buy maternity pants because i am the only person in the world showing this early in my pregnancy. seriously. ok, it could be those big macs i crave every day. yes, i said it. big macs. I LOVE THEM. well, not usually; usually (in a non-preggers state), i crave a big mac once every five or six months. and then i usually eat one, and then i feel instantly regretful as they usually give me an instant stomach ache. pregnant, though, i love them and they make me feel super good. i don't know why. i'm going to be a house by the time i kick this kid out of the womb.

:) on the plus side, i get to eat big macs :)
