Christmas at my Mom's

this year, marco and i spent christmas with my family. those crazy people! this is a pic of (some of) them in their christmas best :) i was not in many pics as i actually took most of this year's christmas pictures in the gallery. but we were there and despite some family tension (hey a bunch of people playing bingo all night long are bound to get rowdy, especially since we are a competitive bunch and a bit of sore losers), it all went well. at least no one got a lump of coal!

a new final day

tomorrow is my final in letterpress and i'm kinda shy to show my book... it's kind of about my pregnancy, and kind of about my feelings. it's a teeny bit mushy, but i'm a bit mushy lately, soooo... i made a tunnel book (rather appropriate for a fetus, don't you think?). it's difficult to understand the book if you aren't experiencing it in person, but here's some pics of it anyhow. also, the text goes like this:

Page 1: (egg & sperm) What can I tell you but that when we found out about you...
Page 2: We were surprised and confused and a little scared.
Page 3: (hands holding) But we were together.
Page 4: (big macs) I started to eat Big Macs everyday.
Page 5: And in fat, we were together.
Page 6: (belly) I got a belly, and he got a belly.
Page 7: And we found out that in you,
Page 8: (baby) We were together.

plants and more plants

so marco is a genius. i haven't had much time to do much gardening stuff but he took it upon himself to read You Grow Girl, a book that i won for the greatest garden contest on craftster. he learned to ferment his own tomato seeds and then dry them out for next year. he tested them out earlier this week and his seeds are growing! of course, we won't keep these 'cause it's totally not tomato season, but it's cool to see that it'll work for next year :)

oh and this is my latest needle-felt creation. it's a sprig of mistletoe, which is holiday-esque but not too cheesy where you couldn't wear it for the rest of the year. also, you wear it in your hair (as it is a hairclip), so you're always under the mistletoe! get it? i crack myself up ;)

welcome, squirmy

i have now changed my baby's name to squirmy! squirmy is so, well, squirmy! i can't feel him/her, but i had an ultrasound recently and had a super active little one! squirmy jumped and did somersaults, and at one point was butt up in my belly. this is an active baby! i'm happy to know that he/she is doing well and is active. i have started talking to squirmy and hopefully, he/she is listening!

this is a pic of squirmy in a super-baby pose. his/her hands are above his/her head, sort of like a thumbs up super position!
