the hat, full circle

i absolutely love it when she wears something i made her. and this hat (remember it?) just happens to match our new wrap :) i love the way it looks on her :) what a cutie! she wears it when we go on our walks at naptime.

ok so i'm a little carrier-crazy. i LOVE/am passionate about baby carriers. why? well, because i have to carry my little monkey around everywhere, and frankly, i don't much fancy having to carry her in my arms all day long (tiring) or in the carseat (heavy) or even the stroller (bulky & limiting, at least for my taste). so since mia is with me always and forever, the ultimate accessory is the baby carrier :) and we have a few ;)

our latest is this lovely aqua colored wrap (for you wrap geeks, it's an aqua waves didymos, size 6) and i am in love. it is honestly the most beautiful color blue i've ever seen... these pics aren't super accurate, as they are not quite as tealy as it is in real life. i love this wrap. it's thin and breathable and grippy (so the baby doesn't slip through it ;) ). i love aqua waves!!! my next wrap (although not for a looong while) sequoia waves 6! (a girl can dream, right?)

mine

this has got to be my all time favorite picture of my baby girl. she looks sweet and funny and is trying to talk already :) it's one of those types of pictures that i'm going to love to look at when she's going away to college. the meaning of the name mia is "mine" and i'm so happy she is :)

day trip!

yesterday marco, mia and I decided we would take a little day trip to Pier 39 and pretend to be tourists. we looked around, had dinner and then took little mia to the aquarium of the bay. she was super interested in the fish around her, especially the schooling anchovies! i'm pretty sure she loved it! here we are in our new-to-us mei tai, watching the bat ray swim by!

mia's piggy bank

although i didn't make this piggy bank, i thought i'd post it 'cause my once-crafty mom made it for mia :) she went to one of those ceramic glazing/ pottery places and painted this pig to match the nursery. isn't it cute? when she first told me she made a green pig, i was a little hesitant but now that i see it, it's great. and it's huge, so lots of pennies for the baby :)

heirloom tomato hat

i've got a horrible cold... and when i'm sick, i like mindless knits. what's more mindless than a roll border hat? i love to make fruit hats so here's my latest: the heirloom tomato hat made with a yarn that i got from a swap (the red and yellow variegated). it's quirky, yes, and goes with nothing that i own but i love it :)
