Pumpkin Cupcakes

i made these tuesday for mia's playgroup's halloween party. i think they turned out super cute ;) they're just white cake and vanilla frosting (tinted orange ;) ) the stems and curly green tendrils are chocolate and vanilla candy and the eyes are white m&ms.

and the best part? they were gone in a flash! a big hit with the toddlers.

Pumpkin Harvest Day

this year, marco planted pumpkins just for mia's second halloween. today was harvest day and we had some fun picking the pumpkins straight out of yard. mia had some special fun throwing them, even though we kept on telling her not to (she's in that defiant toddler stage where she has her mad face down). anyhow, here are some pics of her picking pumpkins, the jack o' lanterns to be themselves and finally, mia and her bounty.

marco the winemaker

marco got this crazy idea in his head that this year he would be making wine. this is a big thing in his family, where his uncle has been making his own wine for years. so for some reason he decided this was the year, that he needs to start making his own wine :) he drove this morning for roughly three hours to go and bring back his syrrah grape juice for next year's wine... i've been charged with coming up with a label for this wine, so hopefully i can make it into a portfolio piece.

mia decided she must inspect all wine workings, so here she is, sterilizing the wine jugs with her daddy. she took her job very seriously :)
